Several common spinning process characteristics and comparison


In the mainstream spinning process, ring spinning is the most widely used traditional process, the core through the roller drafting carding fiber, by the steel collar wire ring completed twisting. Its advantage lies in the yarn structure is compact, high strength, yarn hairiness and less uniform dry, can be adapted to cotton, wool, chemical fiber and so on almost all types of fibers, so commonly used in the production of high-grade shirt fabrics, combed cotton yarn and other high quality requirements of the yarn products. However, the shortcomings of ring spinning are also obvious: slow spinning speed, low productivity, and large equipment footprint, high energy consumption, and weaker competitiveness in the pursuit of mass production scenarios.

Rotor spinning (airflow spinning) is a breakthrough process relying on airflow, the fiber is transported to the high-speed rotating rotor through the airflow to complete the twisting, the spinning speed can be up to 3-5 times that of ring spinning, and the output is greatly increased. At the same time, it is more adaptable to raw materials, can make efficient use of short fibers and other low-grade raw materials, equipment occupies a small area, low production costs, very suitable for denim, burlap, low-end knitted sweat cloth and other mass-produced fabrics. However, limited by the twisting method, the yarn structure of rotor spinning is looser, the strength is lower than that of ring spinning yarn, and the hairiness is more, the abrasion resistance is a little bit poorer, which is difficult to meet the quality demand of high-end fabrics.

Air-jet spinning is one of the fastest spinning process, through the high-pressure airflow on the fiber bundles directly twisted, the speed can even reach more than 10 times the ring spinning, production efficiency is very high, and less hairiness in the process of yarn, yarn finish is good, suitable for the production of synthetic fibers or cotton and synthetic blends of thin fabrics, such as summer T-shirts, thin knitted underwear and so on. However, air-jet spinning on the fiber length and neatness requirements, mainly suitable for medium-length fibers, in the pure wool, cotton and other natural fibers on the spinning limitations, and yarn strength by the stability of the airflow, mass production of quality consistency of control is more difficult.
