Over time, the flat mop's Velcro traps hair and fibers, losing its grip on the mop head, causing it to detach during cleaning.
Technique:
Remove the mop pad. Using an old toothbrush (soft bristles), gently brush along the hook side of the Velcro. Hair and fibers will be lifted by the bristles for easy removal.
If fine dust clings to the Velcro, aim a hairdryer on “cool air, low setting” at the Velcro for 10 seconds. The dust will be blown away.
After cleaning, press the hook-and-loop surface with your fingers. If adhesion weakens, lightly apply a thin layer of petroleum jelly to the hook side. Let it sit for 5 minutes to restore stickiness.
